Race Report Oakwood, ON (March 27, 2024) - The fin Race Report
Oakwood, ON (March 27, 2024) - The final race of the @csrasnowcross had been moved up a weekend due to poor snow conditions in Kitchener; and once again the weather
did not look great heading into the finals for this scheduled weekend. The CSRA crew made the decision with Horseshoe Resort in Barrie, Ontario, to overcome what Mother Nature had planned and went to work armed with snow guns, combined with cold temperatures and determination to make this final weekend a great one. After a lot of hard work, CSRA organizers were able to make one of the best tracks of the season in a few short days, where just days before there had been grass showing on the hill. The KSR team is appreciative to both CSRA and Horseshoe Resort for overcoming these challenges and making it an amazing race weekend, as always expected at this venue. With fresh white snow and blue-sky days, this was a great weekend to be out on sleds and racing in front of the fans with a track that consisted of a long sweeping staring line, an uphill rhythm section, and downhill doubles and triples. It was a crowd pleaser and race delight for everyone who attended.

KSR Makes the Long Trip to Timmins for Great Racin KSR Makes the Long Trip to Timmins for Great Racing and Competition

Oakwood, ON (March 14, 2024) – The Timmins Mechanical Solutions Snowcross weekend was worth the wait! After being rescheduled early in the season, KSR was finally able to load the trailer and head North to Timmins, Ontario, to find some snow and solid competition.

This past weekend saw increased entries and some added racers from the SCMX series who, like CSRA, are struggling with mother nature’s lack of snow this season. It was a long haul for KSR after being stopped and held for over 7 hours due to a road closure, and so the team was ecstatic to finally enter the City of Timmins before racing was set to begin on Friday.

Zoe #502 Recap:
Zoe recapped the weekend saying, “it was great to be back on a sled after a few weeks off! It was a long drive but totally worth it to see the coveted white stuff again.” Noting that the fluctuating temperatures constantly changed track conditions, Zoe was happy to be faced with different challenges each day.

Friday was a lighter race day with Zoe only competing in the Pro/am Woman’s class. She had some difficulty getting off the line quickly and had to work her way up the pack to secure third overall for the day. On Saturday, Zoe was not connecting as much as she would have liked to with the track and sled, so she fell behind with the green light and faced some hard battles. She was happy with the great competition and quality racing, although she ultimately missed the podium by one place.

The Junior class is always a challenge, but one that pushes her to strengthen her abilities to compete. There were some strong motos raced, and she placed 9th overall for the day. On Sunday, the track conditions changed quite a bit and she favored the conditions of the track that day stating, “I was able to gain speed in the corners and hit some more doubles!”.

KSR Racer Zoe Accomplishes Goal of Pro/Am Women’s Podium Finish

Oakwood, ON (January 31, 2024) – The January 27-28th weekend marked the first two rounds of the Canadian Snowcross Racing Association (CSRA) 2024 season. The Kawartha Cup, held at the Lindsay Exhibition grounds, is KSR’s hometown race, and one where the team has celebrated many successes over the years. The CSRA crew put significant effort towards making this event happen, with weeks of snowmaking, and countless hours transforming the exhibition grounds into a world class snowcross event. The rain didn’t stop hundreds of riders from gearing up and lining up for the series opener.

Zoe #502 Recap:
With excitement for this upcoming season, Zoe was ready to race this weekend, and race she did! Last year she aged out of the Transition classes where she had been placed since age 9. This year, she moved up to the Junior class, and Pro/Am women on a completely different sled setup. Zoe reported it was different getting used to her 2024 Ski-Doo 600 RS but she was excited for the change. The Junior class is a challenging class to compete in, however these challenges fuel Zoe. Her sled was getting her off the line quickly, and she placed 6th on Saturday and 9th overall on Sunday. In the Pro/Am women’s class, her starts weren’t as quick as she was riding half throttle. She found the class fun to race in though and enjoyed competing with so many great riders. Her goal for the weekend was to get a Pro/Am women podium finish, so she was thrilled with two 3rd place finishes in her first event Pro/Am women’s race. The track challenged her with bumps, whoops, and tough corners but she loved the double section in front of the stands!
